Hailey's 9th Birthday

Ever since I started my baking adventure I have pretty much been in charge of making the birthday cakes for my niece Hailey.

She turned 9 this past weekend.

She asked for a Barbie Cake, which wasn't going to feed many so she also requested a cake with yellow flowers for her party guests.

Barbie had to be prepped for her cake adventure.

The skirt process was easier than I thought it would be, although I used a lot of frosting!
I'm pretty sure my niece didn't mind.

Barbie even helped me out and held her hair up for me.

I made a whole bunch of leaves and flowers with Marshmallow Fondant and let them dry a bit on an egg carton so they'd have a curved shape on the cakes. I ended up not using any of the purple flowers.

Both cakes are White with Vanilla Swiss Meringue Buttercream but I filled the serving cake with a Whipped Cream Cheese Filling...something my niece probably wouldn't have liked because she is very picky.
