This was my first cake.
I made it for my sister's office, simply for practice and experience.
It is a two layer chocolate cake with mocha buttercream frosting covered with Ghirardelli chocolate ganache and chocolate covered and sprinkled strawberries.

I was hoping the ganache would drip more down the sides, but since this was my first time working with it - I let it set a little too long because I was worried it would be too warm and cause the buttercream to melt. O'well.
I had a lot of leftover mocha buttercream frosting that I could not bare to throw away, so I made a batch of Ghirardelli chocolate chip cupcakes, frosted them up and topped them with chocolate covered espresso beans.
